Sitterly joins NEMA

July 31, 2007

This week, Anthony Gleason of Roger Sitterly and Son, Inc. finalized Sitterly's membership in the New England Museum Association (NEMA).

The decision to join was an easy one, said Gleason.  "It's only natural that one of the finest museum and library movers in western Massachusetts apply for membership to one of the finest museum associations in the United States."

NEMA's goals are to strengthen its member museums and individual members through improved communication, ethical conduct, professional development, community support, and promotion of operational excellence.

Sitterly Movers has been providing expert relocation services to libraries and museums around the northeast for many years.  Recent projects have included moving work for the Manchester Historical Association, the library at Greenfield Community College, and Worcester's Franklin D. Roosevelt American Heritage Museum exhibit.

In addition, Anthony Gleason also served as chief in charge of destination distribution of the 67,000 rare volumes and some historical scientific instruments from the Dibner Institute's Burndy Library in Cambridge, MA to The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens in San Marino, Ca.  Sitterly Movers and Allied Van Lines served as sub-contractors for that project.
