As you prepare for your upcoming move, you may find you have household articles you no longer need or want to keep. Many people want to eliminate a few items before moving into their new homes. others want to be spared the expense of moving unwanted items across the country.

Community Agencies Welcome Your Extra Possessions

The community agencies listed below accept a wide variety of donation items and serve a number of different needs in your area. They would be happy to talk with you about any items you wish to donate.

These agencies do not have the resources to clean or repair items, but there is a great and immediate need for almost any item in good condition. Any items you donate will be greatly appreciated, and we hope that the list helps you to prepare for your move.

  • Accepts: non-presishable food items (packaged, frozen, canned), good used clothing, bath towels, laundry detergents, eye glasses, some appliances, furniture, working tools (as needed), etc.
  • The mission feeds, clothes, provides shelter, and offers medical attention, counseling, and advocacy to the homeless.

  • Accepts small household items, kitchen articles/appliances, and bedding. Also accepts office furnishings (chairs, tables, desks) and office equipment (typewriters, faxes, copiers), and computers and printers.
  • The center helps people with physical disabilities achieve or maintain more self-sufficient and productive lives in their communities. Also assists many individuals who are former nursing home and state facilities residents to establish independent lives. The center provides many services, including: Peer Advocate / Counseling, skills training, community outreach, housing assistance, and services for the hard-of-hearing and deaf community, support groups, etc.
